Enrollment Process

 

DOT Tot serves children ages 6 weeks through 6 years. Enrollment is limited to 60 full-time-equivalent children, including 24 infants & toddlers and 36 preschoolers. Enrollment at DOT Tot is open to all children, but children of state employees have priority placement. A waiting list for enrollment is maintained by the center Director.

 

A $75 annual registration fee is due every September.  The registration fee is per family.  Families with multiple enrolled children only pay once.

​

Withdrawal of a child from DOT Tot, or any reduction in the child's schedule, requires a minimum of 30 days written notice to the center Director.

Tuition & Rates

​

The DOT Tot Board of Directors establishes and periodically revises the tuition rates, which are adjusted for age and days enrolled. Part of our tuition is used to cover the items provided for each age group, however our tuition also allows us to provide our Full Time Staff with full health coverage.

​

DOT Tot offers the following rates:

5-Day: Child is enrolled 5 days per week (Monday through Friday)

3-Day: Child is enrolled 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)

2-Day: Child is enrolled 2 days per week (Tuesday and Thursday)

Additional Information

Tuition Due Dates

Full tuition is due in advance on the 1st of each month. A late fee of $15 is assessed for tuition received on or after the 6th of each month, regardless of weekends or holidays.

Discount for Multiple Children

Families with two children enrolled full-time receive a discount of 10% off the oldest child's tuition.  Families with three children enrolled receive 20% off the oldest child's tuition and 10% off the middle child's tuition. This discount is not available when one or more sibling is enrolled part-time.

Items Supplied by DOT Tot

DOT Tot supplies diapers, wipes, crib sheets, and sheets for napping pads. For preschoolers, parents should supply blankets and pillows.

​

Late Pick-Up Fees

A late fee of $2.00 per minute will be charged for all children not picked up by 6:00 pm. The fee is payable to the teacher at the time of lateness. Parents may be responsible for providing transportation to the teacher. Unpaid late charges will result in children not being able to attend DOT Tot until such fees are paid in full.

Food Allergies and Special Dietary Needs

DOT Tot will make an effort to accommodate families that have special dietary needs if those needs are documented by a pediatrician or a licensed dietitian. If your child has  a food allergy, DOT Tot may require parents to provide the child’s meals if DOT Tot is unable to meet the special dietary needs of the child. Parents may also bring their child’s meals if they do not want the child served food from the DOT Tot menu. Due to meal timing issues, items that need to be warmed will be limited to two children per classroom. If this number is exceeded DOT Tot will require parents to bring in meals that do not need warming.

BrightWheel

BrightWheel offers an electronic way for parents to sign in and out. It also is a method parents can use to electronically pay their tuition for a small fee.

​

Returned Checks

Checks returned for non-payment (NSF) will be charged a $35 fee.  In addition, parents will need to pay by money order or cashier check to replace the NSF check.  Thereafter, parents will continue to pay by cashier check or money order.  Parents are responsible for all costs associated with collecting unpaid NSF or tuition and/or late fees, including attorney fees.
